At the Mario Correa Rengifo E.S.E. Departmental Hospital, we continue to move forward with our commitment to providing quality care and contributing to environmental protection. One of our main goals for the next four years is to obtain green hospital accreditation by implementing sustainable practices that reduce our environmental footprint.
During the Board of Directors meeting held in May, chaired by Governor Dilian Francisca Toro, we presented our development plan, in which we also highlighted initiatives such as the expansion of telemedicine and the decentralization of our services to reach more people.
“Strengthening the department’s hospital network is one of our priorities, and the Mario Correa Rengifo Hospital plays a fundamental role in providing medical services to a large portion of Cali’s population. It is a hospital with a long history and is deeply loved by the community,” said the Governor.
Our manager, Juan Carlos Corrales, explained that the strategic plan aims to improve care for our patients, thanks to our highly qualified staff and efficient management. “We want the hospital to be accredited as a ‘green hospital’ as soon as possible, promoting practices that benefit the environment. Furthermore, we aim to become a leader in traumatology and orthopedics, despite the financial challenges we face due to delays in payments from the EPS.”
For her part, the Valle del Cauca Secretary of Health, María Cristina Lesmes, highlighted that our hospital is in the process of specializing in surgical and internal medicine areas, establishing its capacity to respond to the community’s needs and serve as a referral center for low-complexity hospitals in the department.
