At the Mario Correa Rengifo E.S.E. Departmental Hospital, we are committed to the holistic well-being of our patients. Thanks to the efforts of the hospital administration and the support of the Humanization Department, we were able to coordinate the logistics to allow, for the first time, an emotional support animal to visit a patient hospitalized in the Internal Medicine unit.
Ms. María Dolores was the first patient to receive a visit from her faithful companion, Orión, a dog who has been her emotional support. In compliance with all protocols established by the hospital, Orión was able to share a special moment not only with his owner but also with the healthcare staff supporting her during her recovery.
“We understand how important pets are in many people’s lives and how their companionship can contribute to patients’ emotional well-being. At the hospital, committed to humanizing care, we have worked to make these types of visits possible, always ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene protocols,” said our manager, Juan Carlos Corrales.
